Is
situated on the north east coast of the lovely island
of Majorca. It is approximately 67km or one hours drive
from the capital of Palma and the airport.
Originally
a fishing village, and set around a horse-shoe shaped
bay, it has retained it's unspoilt charm and character.
It has wonderful scenery, beautiful clean and safe beaches
and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that appeals to
both couples and families alike,
There are an abundance of cafes, bars and restaurants
catering for all tastes and budgets. On warm Summer evenings
a stroll along the pavement cafes along Pine Walk, a walk
around the marina where the yachts are moored or people
watching in the main square are popular pastimes for both
the locals and tourists.
Sporting activities include tennis, sailing, water skiing,
windsurfing and horseriding in the nearby vicinity. The
ever popular pedalos, banana boat and para sailing can
also be found on the beach. A very picturesque and challenging
9 hole golf course can be found about a 10 minute drive
away.
Also within a short drive or bus ride away are the old
towns of Pollenca with it's narrow cobbled streets , Alcudia,
the pretty resort of Cala San Vincente and the beautiful
beach at Formentor.
A little bit further afield but still accessible by either
car or public transport are the beautiful towns of Valdemosa,
Soller and Deya. The hour long train journey on the wooden
train from Palma to Soller is especially nice with wonderful
scenery en route.
The capital Palma is also well worth a visit to see
the magnificent cathedral, the harbour and the fantastic
shops and it's a great place to sample the cosmopolitan
lifestyle first hand in the many street cafes and bars.
